As a Senior Programme Delivery Director, you will lead complex, large-scale programmes, particularly in the healthcare and public sector domains. You will leverage your expertise in agile delivery, quality assurance and stakeholder engagement to ensure successful programme outcomes. Your role will encompass managing diverse teams, preparing for key milestones such as GDS assessments and driving continuous improvement in all aspects of programme delivery.
Responsibilities
- Lead the delivery of large-scale national systems, particularly in healthcare and public sector settings.
- Implement robust governance to plan, track and deliver programmes to meet scope, quality, time and budget requirements.
- Implement and adapt a variety of delivery models, including agile, waterfall and blended approaches, with a primary focus on agile methodologies.
- Drive continuous quality improvement initiatives, adopting industry-standard good practices.
- Oversee multiple programmes simultaneously, ensuring efficient use of resources and alignment with organizational goals.
- Guide teams through project conceptualization, road-mapping, planning and execution phases.
- Manage relationships with C-level stakeholders, ensuring clear communication and alignment on objectives.
- Lead people and performance management activities, fostering team growth and accountability.
- Manage a large multi-million pound P&L and ensure organisational growth and profitability targets are met.
Requirements
- Extensive experience in public sector programme delivery, particularly with large-scale national systems.
- Proven expertise in the healthcare sector, with a deep understanding of its unique challenges and requirements.
- Demonstrated experience of working in programmes that have gone through successful GDS assessments.
- Strong understanding of agile delivery, with the ability to integrate and adapt other methodologies as needed.
- Proven ability to meet stringent quality standards and drive continuous improvement.
- Strong governance, planning, tracking and multi-programme management skills, ensuring delivery to financial and time parameters.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including working with C-level stakeholders.
- Experience in people and performance management, fostering team growth and high performance.
- Experience of managing a large P&L, ideally in excess of £10Mn annually, achieving growth and profitability targets.
