Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and execute test plans, test cases, and test scripts for end-to-end testing of database and ETL applications.
  • Validate ETL processes, data migration, and data transformation activities across various systems.
  • Write complex SQL queries to perform data validation and integrity checks.
  • Identify, document, and track defects related to databases and ETL processes.
  • Work closely with developers, data engineers, and business analysts to ensure data accuracy and consistency.
  • Automate database and ETL testing processes using industry-standard tools and frameworks.
  • Analyze test results and provide detailed reports on defects and test coverage.
  • Ensure compliance with data security and regulatory requirements.
  • Participate in Agile development processes and contribute to sprint planning and reviews.
  • Work effectively in a multi-vendor environment, collaborating with diverse teams and stakeholders.
  • Apply risk-based testing and assessment methodologies to prioritize testing efforts and mitigate potential risks.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in end-to-end testing with a focus on database and ETL processes.
  • Expertise in SQL queries, stored procedures, and database testing methodologies.
  • Strong knowledge of ETL tools such as Informatica, Talend, SSIS, or DataStage.
  • Experience with data warehousing concepts and testing strategies.
  • Hands-on experience with test automation tools for database testing (e.g., Selenium, Python, dbUnit, or similar frameworks).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Experience working in Agile environments is a plus.
  • Active security clearance is required for this role.
  • Knowledge of cloud-based database solutions (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) is an advantage.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with big data technologies (Hadoop, Spark, Snowflake) is a plus.
  • Certification in database technologies or testing methodologies.
  • Knowledge of scripting languages like Python or Shell scripting for test automation.
