Senior Data Engineer – Additional Responsibilities

  • Design and architect end-to-end batch + streaming data pipelines.

  • Own medallion architecture (Bronze/Silver/Gold) and Lakehouse best practices.

  • Optimise Spark performance, cluster sizing, and cost governance.

  • Build reusable ingestion and transformation frameworks.

  • Lead code reviews, mentoring, and technical decision-making.

Nice To Have (All Levels)

  • Experience with dbt, MLflow, or Databricks Workflows.

  • Familiarity with data governance, lineage tools, or enterprise metadata systems.

  • Understanding of warehousing principles (Star / Snowflake schema).

  • Exposure to Power BI / Tableau integration with Databricks.

  • Integrate governance tools like Unity Catalog, lineage, and security models.

  • Oversee production deployments, SLAs, troubleshooting, and monitoring strategy.

Senior Level

  • Strong expertise in Databricks, PySpark/Spark SQL, and Delta Lake internals.

  • Deep understanding of Lakehouse & Medallion Architecture.

  • Experience with large-scale batch and real-time streaming (Kafka/EventHub).

  • Strong skills in CI/CD (Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI).

  • Advanced SQL, data modelling, and performance tuning.

  • Experience with monitoring, observability, and production ops.

  • Ability to lead architectural design and cross-functional discussions.
