Java & AWS Developer – Application Support

Key Responsibilities:

·                     Provide L2/L3 application support for Java-based applications hosted on AWS, ensuring high availability and performance.

·                     Assist in the design, development, enhancement, and maintenance of software applications and support utilities.

·                     Investigate, debug, and resolve production issues, including root cause analysis and permanent fixes.

·                     Monitor applications, logs, and alerts using AWS and monitoring tools; proactively identify potential issues.

·                     Work closely with business users, QA, DevOps, and infrastructure teams to triage and resolve incidents and service requests.

·                     Implement bug fixes, minor enhancements, and support-driven code changes with minimal impact to business operations.

·                     Participate in release, deployment, and post-deployment support activities.

·                     Perform code reviews to ensure quality, stability, and adherence to best practices.

·                     Create and maintain support documentation, runbooks, SOPs, and knowledge base articles.

·                     Ensure adherence to SLAs, incident management, and change management processes.

·                     Stay up to date with Java, AWS services, and application support best practices.

Qualifications:

·                     Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.

·                     Hands-on experience in Java development and supporting Java-based enterprise applications.

·                     Working knowledge of AWS services (EC2, S3, RDS, CloudWatch, Lambda, etc.).

·                     Experience in application support, production troubleshooting, and incident management.

·                     Strong understanding of software development best practices, debugging techniques, and design patterns.

·                     Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git) and CI/CD pipelines.

·                     Ability to work in a support environment, including handling production issues and time-sensitive incidents.

·                     Strong problem-solving, analytical, and root cause analysis skills.

·                     Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

·                     Willingness to learn, adapt, and work in rotational shifts or on-call support, if required.

  • ITIL Foundation certification is mandatory.
