Role Summary:
The AWS Cloud Architect supports the Lead Architect in developing detailed technical solutions and artefacts for Thurrock Council’s AWS migration. The role ensures that detailed design and build documentation align with the approved cloud architecture, Well-Architected principles, and CIS L2 compliance standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Hands on Infrastructure Migration (Lift & Shift) – VMWare with Migration Waves Planning & Dependency management
• Develop detailed Low-Level Design (LLD) documentation for networking, compute, storage, and monitoring layers.
• Support design and validation of the Citrix-to-Amazon WorkSpaces/AppStream modernisation.
• Implement configuration baselines for Landing Zones, Transit Gateway, VPCs, IAM, CloudTrail, GuardDuty, and Config.

• Collaborate on dependency mapping, workload scoring, and migration sequencing during design workshops.
• Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) templates (Terraform/CloudFormation) for repeatable, compliant builds.
• Participate in design assurance reviews and provide recommendations for optimisation and scalability.
