Data Test Analyst – Test Lead (Digital Commerce & Experience, Data Engineering – Cassandra)

7 to 10 Years of relevant experience in data testing and test leadership roles.

United Kingdom – UK-based hybrid working, with 1–2 days per week onsite in Chippenham.

The Data Test Analyst – Test Lead will support and lead testing across data-focused change, remediation and reporting workstreams, ensuring solutions are functionally correct, traceable and production-ready. The role sits within a multidisciplinary data delivery team supporting identity-data processing, exception management, operational casework and management reporting. Testing must demonstrate that complex matching, transformation and reconciliation rules behave consistently and can withstand operational and audit scrutiny. Candidate must have relevant experience of 7 to 10 Years.

- Define and execute test scenarios for data processing, remediation and reporting solutions.
- Validate source-to-target data flows, transformations and business rules.
- Perform functional, integration, regression and data-quality testing.
- Validate exception handling, reconciliation and error scenarios.
- Produce clear test evidence and defect records.
- Work with developers, analysts and operational subject-matter experts to investigate defects.
- Support release readiness and post-deployment validation.
- Create representative test data and maintain traceability from requirements and business rules through to test evidence.
- Verify role-based access, data-handling controls and the completeness of operational audit records.
- Lead test planning, estimation and prioritisation activities for data-focused workstreams.
- Coordinate and mentor other testers within the team to ensure consistent test practices and quality standards.
- Collaborate with product owners and business stakeholders to clarify acceptance criteria and ensure adequate test coverage.
- Drive continuous improvement of test processes, tooling and automation opportunities within the data testing domain.
- Ensure alignment of testing activities with Agile delivery practices and release schedules.
- Provide clear status reporting on test progress, risks and issues to project and programme leadership.
- Ensure that testing of Digital Commerce & Experience solutions and Cassandra-based data engineering components meets performance, reliability and compliance expectations.

- Strong focus on data quality, auditability and delivery discipline.
- Comfortable working in Agile teams across technical, operational and business functions.
- Able to handle sensitive information, evidence and access-controlled data in line with defined procedures.
- Experience working in secure, controlled or regulated environments.
- Ability to collaborate effectively across Digital Commerce & Experience and Data Engineering teams.
- Strong communication skills to articulate complex data-testing issues to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Proven ability to operate as a Test Lead, balancing hands-on testing with coordination and oversight responsibilities.

- Strong data testing experience, preferably within Digital Commerce & Experience and data engineering environments.
- Proficiency in SQL and data interrogation skills for complex datasets.
- Experience validating APIs, integrations and/or ETL data pipelines.
- Understanding of the test lifecycle, defect management and regression testing.
- Experience with Azure DevOps, Jira or similar tooling for test and defect management.
- Power BI or report-testing experience is desirable.
- Experience testing record matching, reconciliation, identity data or rules-driven case workflows is advantageous.
- Hands-on experience with Data Engineering – Database – Cassandra (Technical) or similar distributed databases is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with testing data solutions in cloud-based environments and modern data platforms.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail in data validation and reconciliation.
- Active SC clearance is required.
- Experience working in secure, controlled or regulated environments.
