Essential Skills and Experience 

• 5-7 years of relevant experience in data engineering, database engineering or database development/support roles. 

• Strong hands-on knowledge of PostgreSQL or a major NoSQL platform such as Cassandra, MongoDB or Couchbase. 

• Practical experience supporting database solutions used by application teams. 

• Understanding of relational and/or NoSQL data modelling, schema design and data access patterns. 

• Experience working across development, test or other non-production environments. 

• Strong troubleshooting, analytical and problem-solving skills. 

• Ability to work effectively as part of a larger team and deliver tasks to agreed quality and timelines. 

• Willingness and ability to learn new technologies. 

Desirable Skills 

• Exposure to AWS or Google Cloud Platform (GCP). 

• Experience with automation, scripting, CI/CD pipelines or infrastructure-as-code practices. 

• Familiarity with distributed data platforms, database observability, security or performance tuning. 

• Experience working in Agile delivery teams.
