Job Summary

Own the pipeline and deployment asset layer of the onboarding solution, including CI YAML, Jenkins job definitions, CD configuration, Helm releases, GitOps registration, and secrets integration, while contributing as a Data Engineer / BI Developer within DA&A. The role ensures generated assets are consistent, secure, environment-driven, testable, and compatible with the customer’s existing CI/CD and platform standards. Candidate must have relevant experience of 5 to 8 years.

The role will deliver versioned CI YAML and Jenkins job templates for up to two application patterns; versioned CD configuration, Helm release generation, GitOps registration, and secrets integration across eight environments; and automated validation, deployment health checks, diagnostic guidance, and operational documentation.

Key Responsibilities

Own the pipeline template engineering activities:
• Create CI YAML and Jenkins job definitions from controlled templates for each selected application pattern.
• Define required inputs, defaults, naming conventions, repository structure, validation rules, and generated-file ownership.
• Ensure templates are versioned, reviewable, and backward-aware, and document how template changes affect newly onboarded applications.
• Integrate build, test, package, policy and security checks, artifact publication, and evidence capture according to customer standards.

Drive CD, Helm, and GitOps integration:
• Generate CD YAML and configuration and an environment-specific Helm release for each onboarded application.
• Register releases in the existing GitOps workflow and ensure configuration is driven by the central environment matrix.
• Implement health-check validation for the starter application in each environment and surface clear deployment status to orchestration.
• Preserve cloud and production approvals and support Canary, Central, and East production sequencing after approval.

Manage secrets and platform integration:
• Integrate Jenkins and deployment assets with the customer secrets store and approved identity and access patterns.
• Prevent credential leakage through source control, pipeline output, generated summaries, or troubleshooting artifacts.
• Collaborate with Platform and Security SMEs to embed required controls without creating a new CI/CD platform or bypassing existing policy.

Ensure operational quality and effective handover:
• Create automated validation for generated YAML, Jenkins jobs, Helm assets, and GitOps registration.
• Troubleshoot build, deployment, reconciliation, secrets, permissions, and health-check failures and provide actionable diagnostics.
• Contribute to dashboards, runbooks, weekly demos, gate evidence, code handover, knowledge transfer, launch, and warranty support.

Contribute as a Data Engineer / BI Developer within DA&A:
• Collaborate with data and analytics teams to ensure CI/CD pipelines support data automation and AI workloads and BI solutions.
• Align DevSecOps practices with DA&A requirements, ensuring secure, reliable delivery of data engineering and BI components through GitHub Actions and other CI/CD tooling where applicable.
• Support integration of data pipelines, reports, and analytics assets into standardized deployment workflows and environment strategies.

Other Capabilities

• Ability to design reusable pipeline and job templates for multiple application patterns and environments.
• Strong focus on operational excellence, including deployment health checks, diagnostics, and clear documentation.
• Collaborative mindset to work with Platform, Security, and DA&A stakeholders without disrupting existing CI/CD platforms or policies.
• Strong problem-solving skills in complex multi-environment CI/CD, GitOps, and Kubernetes-based deployments.
• Commitment to secure handling of secrets and credentials across tools, repositories, and operational artifacts.

Qualifications and Skills

Required experience and qualifications:
• 5-8 years in CI/CD, build and release engineering, DevOps, or platform engineering.
• Strong hands-on experience with Jenkins, YAML-based pipeline configuration, Git, Helm, Kubernetes/AKS, and GitOps delivery.
• Experience creating reusable pipeline and job templates for multiple application patterns and environments.
• Experience integrating build, artifact, security and policy checks, deployment, health validation, and release evidence.
• Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline or equivalent practical experience.

Mandatory technical competencies:
• Jenkins jobs, multibranch pipelines, shared libraries, job generation and configuration-as-code, credentials, agents, artifacts, and pipeline troubleshooting.
• CI YAML generation and validation, repository templates, parameterization, and application-pattern-specific defaults.
• Helm chart and release management, values hierarchy, release naming, upgrade and install behavior, rollback awareness, and health and readiness verification.
• GitOps principles and operational workflows, including environment registration, pull-based deployment patterns, configuration promotion, and reconciliation awareness.
• Kubernetes/AKS deployment concepts, namespaces, configuration, secrets references, probes, service exposure, and environment separation.
• Secure secrets and credential integration without exposing sensitive values in repositories, console logs, emails, or evidence packs.
