POS System Analyst/Application Engineer

Experience and Skillset

  • Hands‑on experience supporting enterprise retail POS systems, with strong expertise in Oracle Xstore across production and pre‑production environments.
  • Proven experience in POS application log analysis and comparison, including V21 vs V25 log comparisons, regression validation, and behavioral analysis during upgrades and releases.
  • Strong experience designing, building, and maintaining Splunk dashboards and alerts for proactive monitoring of POS applications, integrations, and store operations.
  • Advanced ability to write and optimize Splunk SPL queries for deep log analysis, troubleshooting, and operational reporting.
  • Working knowledge of SQL queries for backend analysis, reporting, and database data cleanup activities, ensuring data accuracy and consistency.
  • Experience monitoring and supporting TSE jobs, including job execution validation and issue identification.
  • Exposure to identity and access integrations, including SailPoint, supporting access validation, provisioning processes, and audit requirements.
  • Hands‑on experience with payment and tax‑free integrations, including Adyen and Global Blue, ensuring smooth transaction processing and compliance.
  • Strong experience working on production issues, performing detailed root cause analysis (RCA), and collaborating with engineering and infrastructure teams to drive resolutions.
  • Solid understanding of incident management processes, including issue triage, impact assessment, escalation, and post‑incident documentation.
  • Ability to perform basic application and environment troubleshooting using logs, monitoring tools, and system behavior analysis.
  • Experience working with related retail platforms and tools such as EDGE, Xcenter, Xenvironment, Xservice, XMobile/MPOS, and enterprise system integrations.

Must‑Haves

  • 5+years of hands‑on techno-functional experience with Oracle Xstore POS (V21 & V25) in enterprise retail environments
  • 6+ years of strong experience supporting POS systems across production and pre‑production environments
  • Proven expertise in V21 vs V25 log analysis, regression validation, and upgrade/release support
  • 3+ years of hands‑on Splunk and Datadog experience, including:
    • Building dashboards and alerts
    • Writing and optimizing SPL queries
    • Troubleshooting POS and integration issues
  • Minimum 5 years of SQL experience for backend data analysis, reporting, and database cleanup
  • Experience monitoring and supporting TSE jobs in production
  • Hands‑on experience with payment and tax‑free integrations (Adyen, Global Blue)
  • Working knowledge of identity and access management, including SailPoint
  • Strong experience handling production incidents, including root cause analysis (RCA)
  • Solid understanding of incident management processes (triage, escalation, resolution)
  • Experience using logs and monitoring tools for application and environment troubleshooting
  • Familiarity with retail platforms and tools such as EDGE, Xcenter, Xenvironment, Xservice, XMobile/MPOS
  • Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder‑management skills
